  • 1 ½ cups milk or milk alternative like almond milk or coconut milk
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon protein powder or ground flax or nut butter

This smoothie recipe is a sure-fire way to start the day fueled and ready-to-go. Cow’s milk in Canada is fortified with Vitamin D.  A nutrient that Northerners are susceptible to being deficient in. If you are going to use a milk alternative, check the nutrition facts table on the label to make sure it contains Vitamin D.
